The TOP SCENT Project has been meant for high school students from Poland, Turkey, Portugal, Italy, Spain and Estonia. Through making themselves familiar with various manners of celebrating different holidays and lofty school events, our students are having an opportunity of getting to know and understanding their peers from abroad.
Over the course of the project, the involved students are contacting each other via the Internet and, in this way, exchanging the information and materials concerning the concrete events formally celebrated at their schools. The working visits are planned in the way so that to enable students personal participation in chosen partner school events. The calendar summarizing all celebrated school events, the DVD presenting the celebrations and the project website with forum for teachers and students (search for the butterfly on this page) are also the products of our work and cooperation.
Taking into consideration the fact that our countries are far apart as far as tradition, culture, history, habits and in some cases even religion are concerned, we believe that this project is a contribution to better understanding of the partner countries. We would also like to encourage students all over the world to believe that our diversity is our asset and that the otherness should arouse our interest.
